Orange Blossom Blues was inspired by a song written in 1939 by Ervin Rouse about a train, "The Orange Blossom Special". Over the years, because of the virtuosity required in performance, it has become known as รข€˜the fiddle players national anthem'. And, I'm sure, memories of growing up in a railroad town during WWII played a part in this composition. The score is based, not on any thematic material, but the spirit of this wonderful fiddle tune.
