In Principio was written in March 2009 and represents, for the composer, the first experience in composition for Sacred Music. The music is based on biblical passage of “St. John 1, 1-3, 1, 14”. The work features modern harmonies, modalisms and passages based on Gregorian chant. The piano complement the choir, sometimes through timbric and pointillist interventions, sometimes in the form of accompaniment. The piece had premiere in May 2011 with the choir Madrigale and pianist Adam Oliveira conducted by Arnon Oliveira in Education Foundation Artistic - Belo Horizonte / MG - Brazil.
